* Duolingo – Students will need to set up a Duolingo account at home with parental permission. The session will be to challenge participants to spend at least 10 minutes, twice a week, working through the Duolingo challenges in their chosen language, at their own level:

  • With parental permission, most students should be able to do this on their own phone device if they have one, but school laptops will be available for them to log on if needed.
  • The Duolingo system rewards time spent with a point system, and students will build up their 'streaks' if they keep this up in their own time at home, too.
  • There is no pressure to reveal their results, and I will not be 'keeping score' or league tables.
  • All phones must be off and away while arriving in school and coming up to the Hub. Also before leaving for tutor time. Otherwise, usual sanctions will apply.
