On December 14, our Year 8s were lucky enough to visit the magical Lille Christmas Markets and 'Village de Noël de Lille' to practice their French and get them in the festive mood.
Students got a chance to look around and explore the old town of Lille, enjoy the famous Big Wheel, the aroma of roasted chestnuts and cinnamon, and purchase gifts from all the twinkly market stalls for their friends and family.
After they had had their fill of festive treats and gingerbread, they visited a waffle making factory to see how they are made and got to sample their delights.
One student said the waffles tasted ‘absolutely delectable’! A very enjoyable and Christmassy start to the festive season!
